As the Board of Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School, a PreK - 12th coed school in Joplin, MO, seeks its next Head of School, it recognizes the need for a dynamic leader who is passionate about educating students, being a part of the TJ community, and shaping the school’s future while ensuring its faithfulness to its founding Mission. QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required (an advanced degree is strongly preferred);
- High level of personal and professional integrity and ethical values;
- Superb critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills;
- Strategic thinker and planner, able to impact all elements of TJ;
- Experience in operations (finance and accounting, marketing and communication, development, and the student experience to include recruitment and retention);
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and productively with various internal and external stakeholders;
- Able to serve as the “face of TJ” and move the community to philanthropic support;
- Ability to set organizational and individual goals, measure progress, and ensure accountability;
- Knowledge of, and experience with, college preparatory curriculum and pedagogy and course offerings across the K-12 spectrum;
- Commitment to quality education for all students and an unwavering focus on student development and success.
