We are situated in the Bay of Plenty, at the bottom of the Kaimai ranges. It is here we live on 5 acres of grounds with our dogs.
Breeding true to type, sound Ridgebacks with great temperaments is our main aim as well as enjoying the show dog scene.
All dogs used in my breeding program have been hip and elbow scored for dysplasia, DNA tested for DM, JME, the Dilute (blue) gene and more.
I pride my self on the time & effort that goes in to finding the right breeding lines, temperament and dogs to compliment my females. I have imported three males and a female all from well respected breeders or specialty judges for the breed. I also import frozen sem*n to offer myself and others a fantastic family pet or show dog.
Dogs I have bred are active in Agility, Rally-o, obedience and the show scene.
All puppies are socialised with our family and of course our other dogs and friends that visit.
Your new puppy will come with:
1st health check & vaccination. (including checks for Dermoid Sinus)
Wormed every 2 weeks from 2 weeks of age.
4 weeks pet insurance.
Pedigree papers from the NZKC (endorsem*nts may apply)
A puppy booklet including info on the parents and how to care for your new addition.
Collar or blanket.
Food that the puppy is eating with me at the time.
Lifetime support from me as the breeder.
I have experience with exporting.

Health checked by our veterinarian
Vaccinated with their 1st vaccination
Micro-chipped and Registered on the Companion Animals NZ Register
Wormed (at 4, 6 & 8 weeks)
Treated for fleas as necessary
Completely weaned
On four feeds per day

They will come with ...

A puppy pack which includes literature on raising & training your new puppy.
A copy of the three generation pedigree of your puppy
(You will also receive a copy from DogsNZ in due course)
A list of all treatments completed and due within the first year of the puppies life.
A supply of food that they are used to so that you can integrate the foods you wish to feed slowly.
A blanket with the smells of Mum and their Siblings to help them settle.

Your puppy comes with an assurance that you can contact us for advise, if you wish to do so, for the life of your new family member.
What we ask in return is for the odd story or photo of the progress of your Puppy / Dog through his or her life time.

Breeders of the amazing Rhodesian Ridgeback, JAHARI kennels is a DOGSNZ breeder. We are home to many Australian bred and home owned Rhodesians.

Located in Katikati in the North Island of New Zealand, JAHARI is a small family run kennels based on our lifestyle block. We have many grandies whom play a large roll in our puppies upbringing. Our dogs and puppies are also brought up along side other breeds as our extended family are also dog lovers.

Working with top breeders in Aus JAHARI make high quality selections to enhance our breeding and show program. Our goal is to to raise well rounded Rhodesian Ridgeback with both good temperaments but also dogs who fit the breed standard. Sound and quality pets for families to enjoy as much as we enjoy our RR’s.

Our lovely breeding program are hip & elbow scored with good results and have had the appropriate DNA tests for the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed.

If you are lucky enough to purchase a puppy from us, you will get a well bred puppy with their first round of vaccinations, completed flea and worming treatments while they are in our care. A royal Canine puppy pack which he/she has been weaned on to 3 feeds a day, and all babies will have had their microchip for registration at your local council.

Shemshi Ridgebacks are based on a 145 acre Red Devon Beef farm in the Waimata Valley, Gisborne.
Established 24+years ago in the UK, I immigrated with three generations in 2007. I am planning a second litter with Shemshi Tamela due November 2023.
My litters are born and raised in the lounge to maximise their socialisation.

Parents are health tested, hip and elbow scored for dysplasia, DNA tested for Degenerative Myelopathy, Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy.
