Have you guys heard of Nitter? It's a front-end interface to view Twitter. Here are some features:
- No JavaScript or ads
- All requests go through the backend, client never talks to Twitter
- Prevents Twitter from tracking your IP or JavaScript fingerprint
- Unofficial API (no rate limits or developer account required)
- Lightweight (for @nim_lang, 36KB vs 580KB from twitter.com)
- RSS feeds
- Themes
- Mobile support (responsive design)
- AGPLv3 licensed, no proprietary instances permitted
An example:
Elon Musk.In my experience, it's way better way to simply browse twitter without an account.

unknown userP.S. just a heads up, to have markdown-style links, you need to remove the space between the display text and the href :)

WhomI'd suggest using the Snopyta instance of Nitter, the main one goes down all the time. I'd also suggest using Invidition to redirect all twitter links to your preferred nitter instance.

Parameter (OP)I appreciate the links, Snopyta especially. I had been wondering why Nitter goes down semi-often.

Whom They have a lot of really wonderful free services. Their hosting is much more stable than anything else I've found, especially for invidious where the main instance is hardly ever working right.

You can also use HTTPS Everywhere to achieve redirection for any sites, instead of using one extension for each site.
Go to twitter.com. Click the extension > see more > Add a rule for this site > Show advanced. Under "Matching Regex" add an 's' to https so that the redirection work properly. The under "redirect to" add https://nitter.net or other instance you want. Nothing against your extension, just that HTTPS Everywhere comes from the EFF and is a bit more reputable :). You can do that for invidious and bibliogram as well.

Parameter (OP)I'm surprised Invisious is able to do that. That's cool but you need to enable js to watch videos right?

(OK, while this is mostly in jest, I mentally scream every time I click on a link to Twitter. I don't mind twitter when it's just a quick visit, but their interface is just so slow and irritating)

The-Toon While this is in jest, the Firefox extension Invidition does that. It redirects YouTube and Twitter to a user selected Invidious and Nitter instance respectively.

Wes It seems to have very fast initial load times. However, the lack of JS is felt when clicking "read more" buttons. I find it annoying it requires a full load instead of AJAXing the content into place.
