Description
ePropulsion E80 battery Space-saving and long lifespan
The ePropulsion E80 is a LiFePO4 battery, which is approximately 30% lighter than average lead-acid batteries, but offers approximately 50% more usable capacity. In addition, LiFePO4 batteries have a much longer lifespan. They can handle up to 3000 charge cycles, while lead-acid batteries can only handle about 300 – 500 charge cycles.

Extend your range with larger batteries from ePropulsion
In addition to the E80, ePropulsion has 2 more batteries. These are the E40 with 2048Wh and the E175 with 8960Wh. With larger batteries you can sail even further. All E-series batteries use the same charger.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose an ePropulsion E80 battery instead of a third party battery?
ePropulsion batteries are designed for maximum efficiency, performance and safety. Our communication cable does not allow the use of third-party batteries. This has data accuracy to the meter and conveys useful information that ensures safety and performance. Third party batteries are not always capable of this.
Can I use third party chargers for an E-series E80 battery?
No. Third party chargers are not allowed for warranty reasons.
Can I connect E-series batteries of different ages in parallel?
No. They must be the same models of the same age. That's because otherwise you have different battery management systems and different cell configurations working together.
What is the communication terminator used for?
It improves signal quality. Without the communication terminator, the E-series batteries will not operate in a parallel connection. See the last product in the cables and cable supplies group. Make sure you purchase this tool before making a parallel connection.
How do I switch the E-series batteries on and off in parallel connection?
Always switch the main battery on/off first and then the secondary battery. If you do this the other way around, damage may occur and the usable capacity may be reduced.

Electric propulsion systems in pleasure boating
Advantages of electric motors? In summary: Clean, quiet, low-maintenance, reliable, practical, super strong and very predictable and controllable range. Knowing more? be sure to read our blog post about electric sailing and then our practical experiences with these beautiful products.
Electric motors can be divided into the following categories:
Inboard engines: | These are engines that are built into the boat to replace, for example, an existing marine diesel or to drive a sloop with a built-in engine. Propulsion takes place, for example, via a propeller shaft or sail drive and the engine is usually placed along the length of the boat. |
Outboard engines: | These are engines that are, for example, attached to the rear (transom) of the boat. These motors are therefore more flexible because they are easily accessible and removable. When there is a voltage of 24 volts or higher, we call it an outboard motor. |
Whisper engines: | Whisper motors are the lighter brother of the outboard motor because of a voltage below 24 volts. They are often powered by an external 12V battery. |
Pods: | These engines are therefore mounted under the boat . This therefore has the great advantage that the engine does not take up any space in the boat and is not visible on the outside of the boat. |
Watercraft: | Our water scooter is an electrically powered swimming board. When used the other way around, it is also a double water cannon. This is not only a fun toy for small children, but also a very useful tool for less mobile swimmers. |
SUP engine: | Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is becoming increasingly popular, but is also a strenuous sport. However, by equipping the SUP with an auxiliary motor, covering large distances becomes a lot easier. Be sure to read our test of the ePropulsion Vaquita SUP motor . |
Canoe or kayak motor: | Just like for the SUP, we also supply supporting motors for kayak and canoe. |
